Roles & Responsibilities :-
Carry Out regular reliability survey for monitoring health of Refractory Lining.
Carry out Inspection of Refractory lining during shut down and release Observations and
Recommendations
Monitor all Day to day Refractory activities and to ensure that the job is in compliance
to the standards, specifications and procedures.
Ensure close monitoring on quality check points and safety aspect along with timely
completion
Prepare MIS on summary of Refractory activities.
Monitor and review of contractor’s efforts, check resources as required and make
recommendations as necessary.
Turn around Management
Publishing Technical Procedures relevant to Refractory Inspection & Maintenance –
SMP’s/SIP’s
Review of Technical Offers submitted by Vendors for supply of various Refractory
Materials. Creating Database for Historical Information.
Ensure compliance with MIQA requirements.
Ensure adherence to the heat-up & dry out schedule for a particular equipment.
Coordinate with outside agency during shutdown.
Estimate Resource requirement. Coordination with Contract cell & Contractor for
mobilization
visual inspection of Refractories upon receipt of materials at Stores
Participate in reliability studies as identified.
Ensure proper data entry in SAP-PM to adhere to its compliance.
Ensure proper execution & adherence to the schedule.
Compliance to standards, procedures and best practices during job execution.
Ensure thermography analysis of the critical equipment in periodic manner.
Ensure availability of quality manpower regularly & also during shutdown activities.
Extend support to O & M during commissioning / plant start-up.
Failure analysis of refractory lining.
Safe Execution of Refractory jobs during shutdown.
Review Maintenance MIS and ensure KPI targets are met.
Learning and Mentoring:-
Identify new area for knowledge enhancement.
Identify training needs for subordinate & recommend training program for them.
Conduct hands on learning about refractory application for the subordinates / Contractor
supervisors.
HSEF and other regulatory compliances:-
Ensure strict compliance on applicable HSE procedures/ practices
Monitor and audit compliance with applicable HSE procedures/ practices
Track new regulations (local and international) and provide structured mechanism for
compliance
Data Management:-
Critical Refractory lined equipment failure history & plan for improvement.
Learning & development plan & record of team members.
Regular monitoring of refractory material availability with special attention to critical spares.
Extra – Mural Activities:-
Nominate participation in external events
Deliver presentations / publications
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:-
Carrying out Failure Analysis pertaining to Refractories
Improve manpower productivity during maintenance & shutdown jobs.
Reduction in Refractory consumption cost
Optimization of Refractory inventory.
Ensure increase of equipment reliability.
Adherence to codes & standard.
Adherence to best maintenance practices / Procedures / ITP
Develop scope for use of advance refractory materials.
Prioritization of jobs as per criticality & planning.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:-
Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic/Civil Engineering
Candidate having API 936 Certification shall be preferred.
